Melt
Networked, Multi-Site Installation.
Collaboration with Slavica Ceperkovic.
2002.

A person's touch in one country melts a block of ice in another. A tactile object elicits physical contact from the audience. Their touch is encoded and transmitted via the Internet to a remote location. A receiving sculpture uses the data to heat a pair of coils embedded in ice, creating unpredictable forms.
